Missouri offers special SNAP services for residents facing urgent needs or unique circumstances. These include expedited benefits, disaster replacement funds, job training programs, and application assistance for older adults.

Expedited SNAP (7-Day Issuance)

This service provides food assistance within seven days to households with little to no money. It is designed to address immediate food needs while a full SNAP application is processed.

Eligibility is based on having minimal resources. Households may qualify if their gross monthly income is under $150 with $100 or less in assets, or if housing costs exceed their income and resources. Migrant or seasonal farmworkers with under $100 also qualify.

SNAP Replacement Benefits for Disaster or Household Misfortune

This program replaces SNAP funds when food purchased with an EBT card is lost. Qualifying events include power outages, floods, fires, or other misfortunes beyond a household's control.

Any SNAP household that experiences such a loss can request a replacement. The request must be submitted within 10 days of the incident to be considered for these benefits.

SkillUP Employment & Training Program

The SkillUP program helps SNAP participants build job skills to move toward self-sufficiency. It also allows them to maintain SNAP benefits while they are in training or seeking employment.

The program is open to Missourians who receive or are eligible for SNAP. It provides free assistance with job training, certifications, and placement services. Participation is voluntary unless tied to work requirements.

SNAP Application Assistance for Older Adults

Missouri residents aged 60 and over, as well as disabled adults, can receive one-on-one help. Local Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) assist with completing applications and estimating potential benefits.
