Here’s how you can check your Idaho EBT card balance, from using a mobile app to calling the customer service number.

How to Check Your EBT Balance in Idaho

You can check your Idaho Quest EBT balance for SNAP and cash benefits in several ways. These include using the official ebtEDGE online portal, downloading a mobile app, calling the 24-hour customer service line, looking at your last store receipt, or visiting an ATM for your cash balance. All of these methods are free to use.

1. Check Online Through ebtEDGE

Using the official ebtEDGE portal is a direct way to see your benefit details online.

Go to www.ebtedge.com or follow the link from the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare’s Manage My SNAP page.
Choose “Cardholder Login” and enter your User ID and Password. If it’s your first time, select “Register Here” and provide your card number, Social Security number, and date of birth to create your login credentials.
After signing in, your current SNAP and EBT Cash balances will appear on the home screen. You can click the card number to view recent transactions.
Log out when you are finished to protect your information.

2. Use the Benny App

Checking your balance with the Benny app provides a convenient option right from your phone.

Download the app from the App Store or Google Play and open it.
Tap “Sign Up,” enter your email, create a password, and add your Idaho Quest card number to link your account.
Your live balance appears on the dashboard. You can pull down on the card image to refresh it at any time.
For extra security, you can turn on Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode in the app’s settings.

3. Call the Customer Service Line

Calling the 24-hour Quest Card customer service line at 1-888-432-4328 lets you hear your balance over the phone.

After calling, wait for the language menu. English, Spanish, Mandarin, and Vietnamese are offered first, with more options available. You can find more Language Assistance details online.
Enter your 16-digit card number, followed by your 4-digit PIN when prompted.
Press the option for “Balance Inquiry” to hear your current SNAP and EBT Cash amounts and your last ten transactions.
You can also stay on the line to change your PIN or report a lost or stolen card.

4. Review Your Last Receipt

Looking at your most recent receipt is a simple way to track your funds after each transaction.

Save the receipt after every EBT purchase or cash withdrawal.
Look at the bottom of the receipt, where your “EBT SNAP Balance” and “EBT Cash Balance” are automatically printed.
Discard older receipts once you receive a new one to avoid confusion.

5. Use an ATM

Performing a balance inquiry at an ATM allows you to check your EBT Cash funds.

Insert your Quest card into any ATM that displays the QUEST or Plus logos and enter your PIN.
Select “Balance Inquiry,” and the machine will show or print your EBT Cash balance.

How Can I Keep My EBT Card Secure?

How EBT Benefits Are Stolen

Thieves use several methods to steal benefits. Card skimmers installed on store or ATM card readers can copy your card's magnetic stripe data while hidden cameras record your PIN. Phishing scams, sent via text or robocalls, trick you into revealing your card number and PIN by falsely claiming your account is locked or offering bonus benefits.

What To Do If Your Benefits Are Stolen

If your SNAP benefits are stolen electronically through skimming or phishing, Idaho may replace them. This policy applies to thefts that occurred on or after October 1, 2022. To report fraud:

Immediately call 888-432-4328 to cancel your card and choose a new PIN.
Submit the online Stolen Food Stamps form.

Reimbursement for stolen EBT Cash is not guaranteed under the same program.

If your card is regularly declined at the same store, speak with the manager and consider reporting the issue to the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.

Forgotten or Locked PIN

If you enter the wrong PIN four times in a row, your card will be frozen for 24 hours as a security measure. This lock prevents anyone from guessing your PIN and accessing your benefits.

To fix this, call the Idaho EBT Customer Service line at 888-432-4328 and follow the prompts to create a new PIN after verifying your identity.
When creating a new PIN, choose a number that is easy for you to remember but difficult for others to guess. Avoid using your birthday or simple repeating digits.
There is no fee to reset your PIN, and you can do so as often as needed.

Damaged or Worn Card

Constant use, bending, or exposure to magnets can damage your card's magnetic stripe, making it unreadable at payment terminals. A worn or demagnetized card will prevent you from making purchases.
