You can check your Hawaii EBT funds in several ways. 1. Check Your Last Receipt
Checking your most recent store receipt is a straightforward way to see your remaining funds after a purchase.
Make a purchase at a participating store using your EBT card.
Take the printed receipt from the cashier or self-checkout machine.
Look near the bottom of the receipt for your updated “SNAP Balance” and “Cash Balance.”
2. Use The Benny Mobile App

Call 1-888-328-4292 and select your language, or press “0” for an interpreter.
Enter your 16-digit card number followed by your 4-digit PIN when prompted.
An automated voice will read your SNAP and EBT Cash balances.
5. Use An ATM Or Point-Of-Sale (POS) Terminal
Performing a balance inquiry at an ATM or in-store terminal is another option, though ATMs will only show your EBT Cash funds. You can check your SNAP balance for free on a store’s point-of-sale terminal. To find surcharge-free machines, you can use an ATM locator or the tool on the ebtEDGE website.
Insert your EBT card into an ATM or swipe it at a grocery store register.
Choose the “Balance Inquiry” option.
Enter your PIN to see the available balance on the screen.
Since ATMs only display your EBT Cash balance, you can check your SNAP funds by looking at your last grocery receipt or by using the Benny app.

How Can I Keep My EBT Card Secure?
Phishing and spam attacks are on the rise in Hawaii, with criminals using increasingly sophisticated methods to steal information. Recognizing these scams is the first step in protecting your benefits and taking swift action if you are targeted.
How EBT Benefits Can Be Stolen
Thieves use several tactics to access benefits. These include text message scams ("smishing") with fake links that steal credentials and card-skimming devices on payment terminals that capture your card and PIN. Fraudulent phone calls ("vishing") also spoof official numbers to trick you into sharing your card information.
What To Do If Your Benefits Are Stolen
A federal program allows for the replacement of benefits stolen via phishing, skimming, or cloning between October 1, 2022, and December 20, 2024. To file a claim, which you can learn more about on the Hawaii DHS website, you must act quickly.
Report the theft within 30 days of its discovery by calling 1-855-643-1643.
Submit form DHS-1009 within the following 10 days.
Reimbursement is capped at the amount stolen or two months of benefits, whichever is smaller.

Forgotten or Locked PIN
If you enter the wrong Personal Identification Number (PIN) four times, your card will be locked until after midnight. In some cases, an ATM may even retain the card after too many failed attempts.

When choosing a new PIN, use numbers that are meaningful to you but difficult for others to guess.

Missing or Delayed Benefits
