What To Do If Your Benefits Are Stolen
If you suspect theft, act immediately. Due to expired federal authority, SNAP benefits stolen on or after December 21, 2024, cannot be replaced. However, TANF cash stolen via skimming may be reimbursed.

My Card Won’t Swipe, Insert, or Tap

If the card is physically damaged, call the EBT Customer Service line at 877-768-5098 or visit the Hoosier Works card page to request a replacement. The first replacement each year is free.
Keep your new card in a protective sleeve and away from magnets to prevent future damage.
I Forgot My PIN or It’s Locked
For security, your card will automatically lock after three incorrect PIN attempts. This feature is in place to stop unauthorized use if your card is lost or stolen.
Call the automated EBT Customer Service line at 877-768-5098 to choose a new four-digit PIN. You can also change it online via the ConnectEBT website.
Choose a number that is difficult to guess and avoid simple patterns.
Never write your PIN on the card or share it with anyone, including store employees.
My Benefits Aren’t on My Card
It can be alarming to see a zero balance on the day you expect your benefits. In Indiana, SNAP deposits are staggered throughout the month based on the first letter of your last name.
Deposits may also be processed later on weekends or holidays. In some cases, a pending recertification or address change can temporarily pause your benefits.
